This the the newest BaT feature, and it is exactly the reason why I keep following them: They just have the right mix of expensive, matching number cars and very well done improved/hot rodded vehicles. Kind of like Speedhunters for classic cars for sale.
The ad says that this Volvo had the engine & transmission of a Honda S2000 installed. The F20C is one of the best sportscar engines produced and makes a whopping 120hp per liter.
On the exterieur everything seems to look right. I love the deleted bumpers and the lowered suspension ond steelies - it gives the Volvo a strong club racer vibe. It is exactly the kinf of car I would build if I had either money or skill. Right now all I can do is drool over the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and watch at which price it will sell. Currently it sits at 16.3k $.
Edit: Daily Turismo posted !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! back when it was for sale on craigslist.

An Volvo? An Honda?
Also not a fan of the bumper delete.

I kinda like the raw look of the steelies, although I would consider swapping them for Hayashi or Minilite wheels:

Hmm, are there any comparable Volve drivetrains they could've swapped in, the only one that comes to mind for me is that hot hatch they make and that's FWD.

That is awesome!

Compareable? Not really, the Honda engine is very unique. High revs, not that much torque - a real sports machine with roots to Hondas motorcycle involvment.
Although if one would like to keep it all Volvo one of the bulletproof Turbo engines could have been used. But it would give the car an entirely different character.

Good to see we have the same taste, I am going to edit in a reference to your article.

Yeah I'm familiar with the nature of the Honda engine, seems like a tough engine to drive well/keep in its power band.
Lol you could go the opposite route and swap in a diesel engine, lower hp + high tq.

updated my post with link to yours, as well.
what do you think the story is with this car appearing for sale again so soon? reluctant buyer? car flipper? 'no-sale' the first time?

Step 2: put S2000 suspension under it. I hope it has an LSD like an S2000.

I think the front bumper missing is okay, but the rear just looks too flat.
maybe the front needs a chin spoiler, but itd be hard pull off.

My impression is that it is the same seller and it just didn't sell on craigslist. It got put up on BringATrailer today, so expect it to move soon!

yeah, BaT sure gets a lot of eyeballs on the cars they feature. eyeballs with cash, so cars don't last long on the site.
hhhmmmm... my folks are thinking of getting rid of their 250k mile Toyota minivan. Maybe I'll have BaT showcase it. After all, it's all-original ...
cheers.

It's one thing to dump an engine into a 240 sedan or 74o wagon, but please don't molest a classic like this.

That looks amazing and sounds like it will go hard too. I'm amazed at the price it sold for - the engineering to put the Honda gear into it would have gone into the tens of thousands here in Australia, before you even got onto the beautiful body work.
BaT - set up a shop here in Oz!
